A.M.P Rose ICW Cut and Wrap Machine

The A.M.P-Rose ICW machine takes a rope of confectionery product, forms it into the desired size and shape and transfers the cut piece to a horizontal form, fill and seal machine for wrapping.
The machine is usually fed directly from an A.M.P-Rose BR42 Batch Roller and RS66/67 Rope Sizer or an extruder and cooling tunnel.

Sequence of Operation
The rope of candy (1) is fed into the machine and sized by three/four pairs of sizing rollers (2) to the desired width and thickness.  The thickness can be adjusted by turning the handles provided (3).
The rope is then transferred by belt (4) to the rotary knife (5), which cuts the piece to the desired length.  The cut piece is then transferred via belt to the infeed section (6) of the horizontal form, fill and seal machine.  The products are then picked up by the infeed chain of the wrapping machine (7) and transported to the wrapping section.

Paper is fed from a reel (8) and formed around the product in a continuous web.  The product enters the wrapping material at the folding box area (9).  A fin seal on the base of the product is produced by sealing rollers (10), which are heated/cooled where necessary.  The pack is completed by the cross-seal and knife unit (11), which forms the end seals and cuts the packs to length.

Major Advantages
This type of cut and wrap machine has considerable advantages over traditional methods, for example:

  • Greater flexibility in terms of product size changes, which are achieved quickly and cost-effectively.

  • By using a totally inline system, product handling is smooth and easily controlled.

  • Low downtime and maintenance achieved by simple mechanisms.

  • High speeds - up to 450 packs/minute dependant on product characteristics and wrapping materials.

  • Better product protection and shelf-life are achieved by using the fin-seal principle with high intensity seals.

Style of Wrap
Pillow pack with crimped end seals and longitudinal fin seal laid flat against the product base.  The end seals can be serrated for easy opening.

Wrapping Materials
Heat-Sealable Cellulose Film
Polypropylene Laminates
Various Heat Seal and Cold Seal Materials.

Size Range

Length 50 - 300mm
Width 15 - 60mm
Thickness 3 - 12mm
Diameters Up to 12mm Ø

All sizes outside this range should be referred to AMP-Rose.

Product Size Changes
The machine is designed with inherent flexibility.  Changes to length, width and thickness can all be achieved quickly, and with few component/setting changes.

Other Machines In The Range
The Company also manufactures the Miniflow cut and wrap machine for smaller products, at speeds of up to 1000 pieces/minute.
