Experienced Electrician

We are looking for a time-served electrician to join our team. You must be able to work on your own and be self-motivated. As a control panel wirer you will be required to carry out general panel fitting work, wiring of PLC’s, variable speed drives, servo motors and complex control systems. You will also be expected to complete field wiring on packaging machines, thereby wiring a complete solution through to testing and commissioning. Opportunities to work off-site work both in the UK and oversees will be available.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Build control panels and electrically assemble complex machinery.
  • Work to electrical drawings and correct and update as necessary.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as hand and power tools, measuring devices, and test equipment.
  • Construct a variety of cable management systems, conduit, cable tray and trunking
  • Work on installations in the UK and worldwide
  • Deliver high quality, professional work within planned deadlines

Qualifications and Skills

  • Recognised apprentice trained electrical qualifications
  • Ideally multi-skilled with electrical bias
  • Background in automation and packaging equipment
  • Driving licence and Passport
  • Customer focus and service skills
  • 17th edition wiring regulations
  • A working knowledge of PLC’s/HMI’s would be preferable

Technical Engineering Buyer

You will be responsible for the purchasing of engineering materials, components and services, and maintaining inventory levels. Working closely with suppliers to ensure a good working relationship and sourcing new suppliers as needed. Ensuring materials and services are sourced at the best possible price & quality and ensuring goods are delivered on time allowing projects to remain on schedule to meet business needs.

Communicating regularly with planning, production and technical departments monitoring any issues that might affect the business.

You will strive to minimise costs whilst maintaining quality and establish modern supply chain techniques to meet the needs of the company’s Lean manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings
  • Technical knowledge of materials and tolerances involved with engineering components
  • General understanding of all relevant engineering processes
  • Commercially aware of prices for parts and services
  • A good understanding of MRP software for the purchasing process (training can be provided)
  • Action MRP demand for parts and services
  • Carry out the RFQ process, analysing all quotes and terms and making supplier selection
  • Negotiate terms and prices, using the standard AMP Rose Purchasing Conditions with suppliers as a basis
  • Build relationships with current supply base whilst sourcing new suppliers. Visit and audit suppliers to assess suitability to supply
  • Work closely with Suppliers and Technical departments to improve the quality of parts and resolve non-conformance issues.
  • With the use of KPI’s monitor and communicate supplier performance with regards to quality, delivery and price
  • Take ownership of inventory, managing stock levels ensuring the best possible purchasing practices are adhered too.
  • Arrange and manage long-term supplier agreements

Field Service Engineer- Multiskilled

To supply customer support for the range of AMP Rose packaging machinery supplied worldwide.

Provide field service support for AMP Rose equipment supplied around the world. To conduct installations, commissioning, training, and fault finding on the range of equipment we supply. This role will involve extensive travel often resulting in a number of weeks away from home.

Salary: Competitive (Depending on skills and competence)


  • Understanding and experience of fault diagnoses on packaging machines covering electrical, electronic, and mechanical disciplines
  • Work on a range of PLC and Motion control systems
  • Work away from home for extended periods
  • Conduct machinery checkout and trials
  • Customer acceptance trials
  • Product development assistance.
  • Installation and commissioning of the full range equipment.
  • Promoting sales of spare parts, upgrades, new and pre-owned machines.
  • Carrying out training programs, and promoting training.
  • Giving feedback information from customers and competitive equipment
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to your skill levels from time to time to meet the needs of the business.

Minimum Qualifications/Education 

  • 5 GCSEs grade C or above or equivalent.
  • HNC/D or equivalent in a technical discipline, (electrical or electronic) or equivalent experience.


  • Substantial experience in roles such as electrical or electronic technician, field service repair of machinery, maintenance repair, or related occupations. Familiarity with machine and electrical parts, components and assembly is essential. Experience interfacing with customers.

Knowledge, Skill, Abilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to fault diagnostics using PLC logic.
  • Be able to control situations whilst providing a high standard of customer service
  • Have excellent electrical/mechanical technical skills.
  • Be able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Will be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook

Mechanical Design Engineer- Permanent

AMP Rose have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team based near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. This role will report to the Technical Manager.

AMP-Rose are a small to medium sized manufacturer of confectionary and snack wrapping machinery and employ approximately 115 people. The Company are very successful within their market and are currently undergoing a phase of expansion. AMP-Rose have recently relocated into a new purpose-built facility within the Somerby Way industrial park.

Essential Experience and Key Skills:

  • Solidworks, able to produce parts, assemblies and drawings
  • AutoCAD / Draftsight- a working knowledge of this is essential
  • Machine building experience is a necessity to the success of the role
  • Ability to carry out all stages of the machine design process is essential:
  • Assessing the project requirements
  • Undertake relevant research and testing
  • Working through concepts and calculations
  • Liaising with customers
  • Modelling and detail drawing
  • Able to carry out calculations for sizing motors, gearbox’s, shafts, belts etc.
  • Liaise with outside suppliers
  • Familiarity with the machinery directive for machine design
  • Familiarity with servo motor control and other automation equipment
  • Mechanical biased role- knowledge of gears, cams and mechanisms is required
  • Demonstrated substantial experience in mechanical engineering design
  • MS Office- Excel for BOMS etc.


Desirable Experience:

  • Some knowledge of packaging machines would be advantageous
  • Special projects- experience of this would be desirable

Conventional machinist

We are looking for a skilled machinist to operate conventional machine tools such as cylindrical grinders, lathes and milling machines.

Applicants should be from a precision engineering background and able to interpret engineering drawings and work to close tolerances in both imperial and metric measurements

The ideal candidate would be a time-served machinist with experience in producing high quality precision components in small batches. Ability to work from drawings or produce from sample.
